The Truth about California Sunshine
There's a reason Southern California has a reputation for good weather. Most of the year, it's as nice as you imagined it to be, but there are exceptions. Summer days can get quite hot at mid day and cool off to sweater weather after dark. June often brings “June gloom,” days when a low-lying layer of clouds never clears. The rainy season can start as early as October and last through April or May, but it's usually wettest from November through February. The rest of the year, there's little precipitation, no matter how gray the sky looks.
