It's Your Vacation
If you're like many Anaheim visitors, you'll be spending a lot of time at the Disneyland Resort. This section will help you create a day-to-day plan for how to spend your time there.
When planning your daily itinerary, talk to everyone you'll be traveling with so you'll know what each person wants to do. Leave some flexibility in your schedule, or if you feel compelled to plan every minute, know what's most and least important to you so you can find time to enjoy unexpected activities. Otherwise, you'll be too worried about getting to the next activity to enjoy what you're doing.
If you're visiting some of the attractions in Orange County, San Diego, or Los Angeles, allow time in your schedule to get there and back. Southern California traffic is notoriously snarled, and you may need much more time than you think. Doubling the time you might expect given the distance is a good rule of thumb. Also, don't forget to allow time for meals, rest and relaxation, waiting in line, and so on.
This provides an overview of the rides, shows, attractions, shops, and dining options you'll find in the Anaheim area (and beyond), but only you know what you will enjoy the most once you arrive at the Disneyland Resort or one of the other destinations.
TRAVEL TIP
Theme parks and resorts change every year. New rides, attractions, shows, parades, and activities are added, updated, or somehow changed, and old attractions retire. When you visit Southern California, don't be surprised if you encounter something new that's not described here.
