If there's a special occasion or holiday, the Disneyland Resort will celebrate it in style. The biggest annual events are the Disneyland Halloween and Christmas holiday celebrations, which you can read more about in Chapter 10.

Disneyland also sponsors a half marathon, held each year in September. The flat, loop course runs through Disneyland, out through Anaheim, and back through California Adventure. You have to be fourteen years old to participate, and you must finish the race in three and a half hours or less, a pace of sixteen minutes per mile. Race registration opens in November of the previous year, and it's best to register early.
