Activities and Attractions

Shopping and dining are the main offerings at Downtown Disney. Besides the live entertainment offered at many of the restaurants and the performances on the street, you can also experience the following activities and attractions:

AMC Theatres

www.amctheatres.com

To rest your feet after a day at one of the Disney theme parks, or perhaps to fill time during a rainy day or evening, you can catch a movie at the AMC Theatres located near the Disneyland Hotel. Each of the twelve screens offers state-of-the-art THX sound system and stadium seating.

RAINY DAY FUN

If you're caught in a downpour, you can seek refuge at the ESPN Zone, grab a show at the AMC Movie Theatre, or take the little ones over to the LEGO shop for a bit of play.

ESPN Zone

www.espnzone.com

The popular, sports-oriented cable-television network ESPN offers a theme-dining experience combined with a state-of-the-art sports bar and an arcade sure to please sports fans of all ages.

Located near the main entrance of ESPN Zone is an ESPN Radio studio, where you'll often find live radio broadcasts taking place. The post-football television show Sports Zone also broadcasts from the ESPN Zone.

Besides watching the live sports programming that originates from this location, you can also watch almost any live televised sporting event on the dozens of high-definition television screens located throughout the complex. Don't worry if you need to use the restroom during a televised sports event — there are video monitors located in the restrooms, too.

TRAVEL TIP

Throughout Downtown Disney, you must wear a shirt and shoes at all times. California law prohibits smoking inside all stores, dining areas, and restrooms. You may not ride on skateboards, in-line skates, bicycles, and scooters in the public areas of Downtown Disney.

On the second floor, the Sports Arena features dozens of sportsoriented arcade games and interactive activities. As with any arcade, guests pay for each game or activity separately. Game cards (used instead of quarters or tokens) are available in $5 increments. Of course, there's also an ESPN gift shop, where you'll find a wide range of ESPN logo merchandize and other sports-oriented memorabilia.

Exotic Bird Show

Just outside the AMC Theatres and near the Rainforest Café, you'll find a small area where an exotic bird show takes place throughout the day. Not only is this a chance to learn about the colorful birds and see them perform tricks, but having your picture taken with one of the birds makes for an awesome photo opportunity and an inexpensive souvenir. Kids in particular enjoy this interactive show.

House of Blues Stage

www.ticketmaster.com

This popular theme restaurant often features live entertainment in the main dining room, and big-name recording artists perform on the House of Blues Stage, an intimate concert setting. Don't be fooled by the name of this establishment. There's more here than just blues music, including pop, R & B, hip-hop, and rock-and-roll.

Ticket prices for the evening concerts start around $25 for wellknown performers. Although tickets can be purchased in advance from Ticketmaster, you can sometimes pick up day-of-show tickets at the House of Blues box office.
