Discounts and travel packages to the Disneyland Resort and Southern California abound. A travel package may include airfare, lodging, meals, car rental, and admission to one or more theme parks. They're easy, but these packages may not be the cheapest way to go, especially if they include things you won't use. Use the budget checklist in this chapter to calculate the lowest cost you can manage on your own and compare it to the packages. You may be surprised.

The Walt Disney Travel Company, (800) 225-2024 or www.disneyland.com, offers its own travel packages, which may include early park admissions and other bonuses. This is a convenient option for busy travel planners and offers perks you can't get elsewhere, but don't assume that their packages are cheaper than making the same reservations separately.
