Shopping

No matter what you're looking to purchase or what the weather is like, you'll find plenty of malls and shopping centers to explore in the Anaheim area.

Anaheim GardenWalk

321 W. Katella, Anaheim

www.anaheimgardenwalk.com

The first section of this new shopping and entertainment complex near the Disneyland Resort — restaurants along Katella Avenue — will open in late 2007. The rest, including lush gardens and more shopping and dining opportunities, should be done by spring 2008.

Anaheim Indoor Marketplace

1440 S. Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim

(800) 479-7927

www.anaheimindoormarketplace.com

This indoor outlet mall/swap meet contains more than 200 shops offering mostly brand-name merchandise at discounts typically ranging 50 to 70 percent below retail. The marketplace is open daily except Tuesdays and is less than a mile from the Disneyland Resort. A free shuttle bus is available by calling (800) 479-7927.

Disney Character Warehouse Outlet

243 Orangefair Mall, Fullerton

(714) 870-9363

Run by Asset Management & Sales Company, this outlet store sells Disney's excess inventory at up to 80 percent off original prices. To get there from Disneyland, drive north on Harbor Boulevard across Highway 91. Turn right on Orangethorpe and right again on Pomona, which will take you into the shopping center. To save even more, go to the Anaheim-Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau Web site www.anaheimoc.org and search for “Disney character warehouse” to find a 10 percent off, print-at-home discount coupon.

Downtown Disney

Located in the Disneyland Resort, Downtown Disney offers a collection of upscale shops and boutiques, including the Build-A-Bear Workshop, the block-long World of Disney, Christmas-oriented Department 56, and Disney Vault 28. Check out Chapter 14 for details about this unique shopping and family entertainment complex.
