Evening Entertainment
Besides the usual dinner and a movie, Anaheim offers some long-running dinner theater performances and concerts.

Everything is larger than life in this dinner comedy show, which is suitable primarily for teens and adults. The Gnocchi and Cavatelli families gather to celebrate a wedding, but neither side is very happy with the newlyweds' choice of mates. A cast of family members and guests (all named after some kind of pasta) keep things teetering on the brink of disaster. As you eat dinner, you're one of the guests at this elaborate affair.

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament

Inside this giant castle just ten minutes' drive from Disneyland, you and your family can step back in time and enjoy a meal while knights in armor participate in an eleventh-century jousting tournament right before your eyes. While the show is highly entertaining and exciting, the “eat with your hands only” food (which includes a bowl of vegetable soup) is just so-so. If anyone in your party is celebrating a birthday, ask to have the king bestow his blessings.
Pirate's Dinner Adventure
7600 Beach Blvd., Buena Park
(866) 439-2469

This dinner show features special effects and swashbuckling swordplay around an 18-foot-wide replica of a Spanish galleon anchored in a 250,000-gallon indoor lagoon. All of the action happens while you're enjoying an appetizer buffet and dinner. Like Medieval Times, the food is not as exciting as the show, but at least you'll get silverware here.
