Parking
If you arrive at the Disneyland Resort by car, you'll find plenty of places to park. Each Disney hotel has its own separate guest parking lot, as do the theme parks and Downtown Disney. Once you're on resort property, however, it's best to leave your car parked and use Disney transportation to get around.
If you park in one of the theme park's large parking lots, expect crowds early in the morning, starting one hour before the park opens. Allow thirty minutes to get into the parking lot and into a space. You can take a ten-minute walk from the parking area to the front gate, or use the free tram.
Parking in the theme park lots costs $11 per day for automobiles. Keep your parking receipt, and you can enter and exit the lot during the day as often as you wish. No overnight parking is permitted. Don't worry about the park running out of available spots. The Mickey & Friends parking structure holds more than 10,250 cars, and an additional nearby lot holds 4,300 more.
TRAVEL TIP
The Disney parking lots are huge, and all the floors of the Mickey and Friends lot look alike, except for the character they're named after. When you park your car, write down exactly where you leave it or take a picture of the area with your cell phone or digital camera. If you're driving a rental car, it's easy to forget what it looks like by the end of the day, so it may be a good idea to write down its make and model, color, and license plate number as well.
If you're traveling with anyone who might find getting onto and off the tram difficult, use the passenger drop-off areas in front of the theme parks' main entrance on Harbor Boulevard before parking your car. You'll also find designated passenger drop-off areas in front of the Disney hotels and near Downtown Disney.
Open and seemingly free parking spots at nearby restaurants and hotels may be tempting, but they are reserved for hotel/motel guests or restaurant customers. They're patrolled twenty-four hours per day, and if you aren't a guest or customer, you will most likely be towed away.
