Getting to the Disneyland Resort

Both Disneyland and California Adventure are located in the same place. In fact, California Adventure sits facing the Disneyland entrance on the spot where the Disneyland parking lot used to be.

If you're staying at a Disney hotel or one of the hotels within walking distance listed in Chapter 4, it's easy. Just hoof it on over to the entrance.

If your hotel is a little farther away from the park entrance, it may offer a shuttle, but be sure you know how often it runs. You don't want to be tired and ready to head back hours before the shuttle arrives to pick you up.

If your hotel is on the Anaheim Resort Transit route, it's an easy way to get around. Not only will it take you to Disneyland, but it also goes to the Block at Orange, Anaheim Convention Center, Angel Stadium, Crystal Cathedral, and the Amtrak station. A trolley pass will cost you $3 for one day, $6 for two days, and $8 for three days. Kids under ten ride free with a pass-holding adult. Order the pass online at www.rideart.org or buy it when you get there.

FAST FACT

Disneyland's address may not be a coincidence. Some people think thirteen is an unlucky number, but M (for Mickey, or for Mouse) is the thirteenth letter in the alphabet and some say the double thirteen in the Disneyland address (1313 S. Harbor Boulevard) stands for M. M., Mickey Mouse's initials.

If you're driving to Anaheim from somewhere else in Southern California, take I-5 and get off at the Harbor Boulevard exit or the Disneyland exit. The main Mickey & Friends garage is on Disneyland Drive between Katella Avenue and Ball Road, and the passenger drop-off area is on Harbor. If you're using a GPS system, enter 1313 S. Harbor Boulevard, Anaheim, California.

Once you arrive at the Disneyland Resort, you'll pass through a bag inspection station and then into the central entry plaza, where you can head for the gates for either Disneyland or California Adventure.
