Fontainebleau Hilton Resort & Towers

The queen of Miami Beach hotels once again holds court along Ocean Drive. It has 1,206 rooms in three curving, fourteen-story buildings surrounding connecting pools with rushing water, hidden rocky caves, and palm tree islands. The hotel features an opulent lobby with floor-to-ceiling windows, marble staircases, and huge crystal chandeliers, plus thirteen restaurants, four bars, and rooms furnished in French provincial style. Excellent service demands high prices.

Traymore Hotel

Located in Central Miami Beach along Collins Avenue, this eight-story, restored deco-style hotel features a cream-colored facade with rows of pink ledges, shiny terrazzo floors, and vast Greek columns in its lobby; Formica furnishings and pastel decor in its modern rooms; and a clay-tiled loggia surrounding a Mediterranean-style swimming pool and bar.
