If you like the idea of the tropics but aren't pulled by any of the destinations in the highly popular eastern Caribbean, maybe you should consider an itinerary that brushes up against the eastern coast of Mexico and continues on to include the various islands sprinkled throughout the western Caribbean. Or you can go north from the eastern Caribbean and focus your itinerary on the Bahamas or Bermuda, which also have plenty of great ports of call.
