Paranormal phenomena of all types have been subjects of disbelief, controversy, and debate for centuries. In most instances, there are no stated reasons of disbelief. They are debunked at the mere prospect of their existence. Skepticism plays an important and healthy part of any investigation and research. However, when skepticism becomes close-minded thought with preconceived ideas, it starts to take on a definition other than its main purpose, that is, to question new ideas and discoveries with an unbiased, rational thought process.
