Throughout history, when people died, it usually happened at their home or out in nature, perhaps on a battlefield. With modern medical technology and societal changes, it is more probable that one will pass in some type of medical facility such as a hospital, nursing home, or through the services of a hospice group. It is here that many trained personnel witness the dying process that at one time was experienced only by close family members.
