Part of the spirit language is the use of objects to convey a message. Necklaces, bracelets, watches, rings, cigarettes, and anything that we use in daily life can be used to put focus on something of significance. Sometimes the object, along with either a feeling or even a scent, will be added to give direction to a statement.

CASE: HOW WILL YOU KNOW IT'S ME?

During a group reading I gave in a private home, I had just finished giving a reading to one person and was moving on to another when I heard the words “Alcoa aluminum.” Next, I felt like I was working in the kitchen of a hot, greasy diner. I could tell that I was connecting with an older male cook who was covering a dish of food with aluminum foil. No one in the group could relate to this description. As I repeated the information to the group, the husband of one of the women present came into the room. He could hear me giving this description and felt that the message was for him.

Many years before his dad had owned a diner, and they had worked in the kitchen together. His dad didn't believe in psychics or mediums. One day, while covering a pan of food with aluminum foil, his dad said to him, “Let's make a deal; whoever passes over first, the other will go to a medium and communicate back a code word that will positively prove his identity.” As he looked at the box of aluminum foil he had just used, he said “Alcoa aluminum.” There is no way a medium can guess that one! The father and son were reunited during the session with plenty of unique validations; however, his dad never gave his name.

CASE: RECOGNIZING THE CLUES

I was giving a group reading when I singled out a woman because I connected with her eighteen-year-old daughter who had passed away in a car accident six months earlier. I heard the word “floorboard,” and I sensed that her daughter had been with her mother that very morning, as she adjusted the mats on the floor of her car. I didn't understand the relevance of this, but I passed on the information to the mother. The woman explained that she had gone shopping with her daughter, who had then disappeared into the mall to purchase a gift for her. Since the daughter died the next night, she never had a chance to give it to her mother. The day of the group session the mother went into her daughter's room and found the bag that she had never opened. Inside were two mats for her car. Both had a picture of an angel on them. That morning, she put the mats in her car and asked her daughter to talk about them at the session.

CASE: BUNDLES OF JOY

As word traveled around the police department that I was developing my intuitive skills, I found myself doing readings for my coworkers. A female officer approached me, seeking a prediction regarding the possibility of her much-desired pregnancy. I did a session with her, and her father came through. I clearly saw him with a baby in each arm, wrapped in blue, with a look of grandfatherly pride on his face.

A month later, she informed me that she was, indeed, pregnant. Everyone anticipated twin boys. The same month, her sister learned she, too, was pregnant. They each, joyfully, delivered baby boys.

Interpretation of the communiqué should be examined from various angles. Spirits always give the right answer; it is up to us to “plug in” to the most appropriate conclusion.
