Five to Seven Hours Prior
This is it: event day! All of your hard work and planning is about to pay off. Your organizational skills have ensured a stress-free morning. Hopefully you have had a restful night's sleep and you are mentally prepared for the long day ahead.
Catch Up
Devote some time to catch up on any details not completed thus far. This time can be dedicated to certain items that may need extra attention. As an event planner, you may use this time in the morning to meet your floral designer at the flower market. A last trip to the hardware store or party supply store may also be warranted.
Exercise
Event days can be long and stressful. If possible, fit exercise into your day. It will help relieve any tension or anxiety you may be feeling. Eating properly throughout the day can also be beneficial on an event day. Pack a sandwich and some healthy snacks to avoid low blood sugar.
Provide a Staff Meal
In your plans with the chef, it has most likely been decided who will provide the staff meal. The back of the house usually handles staff meals, but on some occasions it may be necessary for you to make the arrangements. Deli sandwiches, pasta, or pizza make great staff meals. Call ahead to place the order for pickup. Do not forget paper products and drinks.
