How Nines Fit in the Triad
Nines are in the central position of the physical triad. They are highly intuitive and rely on their gut instincts but are susceptible to confusion or a lack of grounding. While Eights are extroverted and Ones introverted, Nines frequently blend in the background or merge with others, such as a spouse, a boss, or a close-knit group or team.
Like Eights and Ones, Nines rely on their intensified ability to sniff out or sense what is going on with others. They are focused on fulfilling their own physical and emotional needs and will often use their gut instinct to discern how they can manipulate things in their favor. They all struggle with anger, but unlike Eights, who are aggressive, Nines are typically passive-aggressive. They may take care of their physical selves, but they tend to sublimate or surrender their emotional needs.
Nines find their own anger so threatening that they bury it somewhere deep inside and frequently adopt a pleasing and passive exterior personality. Even when it's clear that they are mad, they deny feeling angry or even negative about anything or anyone. However, when pushed, Nines may eventually explode. But mostly they go through life making their feelings or their needs secondary to whomever they love or need in their lives. While they may look really good in the beginning stages of a relationship, their passivity has real potential to become an albatross around your neck.
