“The Raven” put Edgar Allan Poe on the literary map once and for all. It was a success when it was published, and it remains one of his most well-known efforts. Students read the musical poem “The Bells” and the stately “To Helen” in their anthologies. But Poe's own favorite among his poetry was one you have probably never read.
