In the 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off, a dazed class sits and listens to their economics teacher, played by Ben Stein, drone on about the Laffer curve and voodoo economics. He's referring to the much-maligned theory of supply-side economics, which had its heyday during the Reagan administration.
