Few of us past the age of five or so eat for the right reasons, which is to say for energy and health. When we are six, for example, we might eat because we are told to or because the candy dish is in front of us. Then, as we get older, we try not to eat because we think not eating is the way to stay thin. Eventually, if we are lucky, we begin to eat foods that are nutritious as well as foods that we like just for the fun in it, in the proper amounts.
