The Inner Senses

In the course of a lifetime, you may recall a single telepathic or precognitive dream, or you may recall hundreds. It depends on how actively you explore your personal dreamscapes and how deeply you penetrate the layers of yourself. “When you look into yourself, the very effort involved extends the limitations of your consciousness, expands it, and allows the egotistical self to use abilities that it often does not realize it possesses,” says Seth in The Seth Material.

Seth calls these abilities the Inner Senses. They often manifest in common dreams about public situations. In the following example, a woman named Jan dreamed about the collapse of a major airline more than a decade before it happened.

A Precognitive Trip

This dream is called “Eastern Airlines”:

I'm hurrying through a crowded airport, making my way to the Eastern counter with my ticket. When I get there, the counter is deserted. Panicked, I run over to the information booth to find out what's going on. The woman behind the booth, a prissy type with horn-rim glasses, looks at me like I've just asked a ridiculous question.

“They've gone under,” she says.

“Under? What do you mean by under?”

“They declared bankruptcy, then disbanded. It was in all the papers.”

She then whips out a newspaper and shows me the lead story on Eastern's collapse. I try to read the date, but it's too blurred. I had this dream in late 1974.”

Jan was able to access an inner sense that jumped ahead in time. “According to Seth,” writes Jane Roberts, “these Inner Senses are used by the whole self constantly. Since past, present, and future have no basic reality, this (particular) sense allows us to see through the apparent time barriers. We are seeing things as they really are. Any precognitive experience would entail use of this Inner Sense.”

Destiny: How It Works

Even though Jan's dream happened years before Eastern Airlines’ actual demise, it doesn't mean that the future is predetermined. The dream depicted one possible version of the future, based on the patterns that were prevalent at that time for the airline. In truth, things could have gone a different way.

Usually destiny is set up with gateways. A person, a company, or even society can choose either to go through a particular gateway or to pass right by. This is what alters fate. In this sense, precognitive dreams seem to operate on the same principle as divination. Your dreams may reveal to you one possible destination.

As many researchers emphasize, you don't have to be a prophet to have prophetic dreams. These dreams happen all the time to ordinary people. In fact, some psychics claim that they only see visions in their waking hours. Dream prophecies, many times, happen to non-psychic people.
