Once you've gotten a taste of how simple and rewarding basic training can be, you'll want to have access to ways to teach your dog other things. This will expand your vocabulary with your dog and improve your relationship. All sorts of things fall under the umbrella of “advanced training,” from an everyday instruction like “heel” (walk nicely by my side), to improving household manners, to getting started in more organized activities like the extremely popular sport of agility or the more formal work of obedience training.
