Groomers hear all the time, “She just needs a bath.” The problem is, there is no such thing as just a bath. If groomers just gave a bath, they would overlook many parts of the pet's grooming needs. Did you forget trimming nails, cleaning ears and eyes, expressing anal sacs, or finding medical issues that the dog's owner may have overlooked? Even if your dog is a smooth-coated breed, a bath in a groomer's eyes is a full groom minus a haircut. Not every dog will need to be clipped and styled, but you must card out and brush even smooth-coated breeds to maintain healthy skin and coat.
