With automatic exposure and focus, just about any-one can take a usable picture these days. But taking a truly great picture requires skill. It's not the camera that's important — it's you, the photographer. With camera in hand, you will choose what scenes to shoot, and when and from what vantage point to shoot them. If you take advantage of creative controls, you also can choose the amount of focus (depth of field), the focal length (zoom setting), the shutter speed, and whether to use a flash.
