Keeping Track and Organizing

There are many ways to keep track of your filing system, your original pictures, your editing settings, and your edited selections. Use the free program Treepad, which uses a simple text-file structure, to make notes. If you develop a cataloguing system that is at all complicated, notate what you have done or you may forget six months from now.

Text is the universal word format that can be read by virtually any word processor or other text program. For a variety of reasons, save your notes in the text file format (.txt) so that you can read them years later or so your great-great-grandchildren can read them 100 years from now.
