Essential Accessories
There are some accessories you just can't do without, and you will want to buy them along with your digital camera. Investigate the specific brands of software, for example, that you will buy. As you did before buying the camera, you should read reviews, go to manufacturers' Web sites, and search for user comments in newsgroups for all of the accessories you will need.
You can spend nothing on software by either using the software bundled with the camera or finding free software on the Internet (see Chapter 17 for good Internet software options). Buying software can cost you from $30 to $600 depending on what features you want. Managing and modifying picture files is a major part of digital photography, so take a good deal of time to determine what capabilities you need and how much you want to spend.
