Help Is Just a Phone Call Away!

If you feel overwhelmed about narrowing down your choices for a destination wedding, talk to a travel agent. The benefit of working with a travel agent is obvious: less research for you to do. The potential downside is that your travel agent might point you only toward the businesses she works with on a regular basis, which may or may not measure up to your expectations. Be upfront from the beginning about what you're looking for in your wedding trip.

When you contact a travel agent, ask her what types of fees she charges for planning a wedding. Some charge standard fees (per airline ticket; per hotel booking); others charge by the hour for big jobs, including weddings.

If you're thinking about skirting the travel agent and checking out your favorite online travel site for a deal, you're not going to have too much luck. Booking a resort destination wedding through an online travel site is really not an option. Because you'll be purchasing a package through the resort, you'll have to deal with the resort directly.
