Bathrooms and Laundry
As you might expect, all your cleaning supplies are extremely toxic and should be kept behind doors that cannot be opened by your dog. Also, if you use scented plugins or constant toilet bowl cleaners — the kind that makes the water blue — either get rid of them or make sure the bathroom door is always closed. Keep all medications safely tucked away in a medicine cabinet. The child safety caps on medicines are not dachsie-proof, and your medications are sure to be deadly to your puppy or dog. Be careful what you throw in the trash cans in these two rooms, too, since your dachsie is sure to dig around for something to chew on, given the opportunity.
Another reason to keep your bathroom door shut is to prevent those dachsies with a paper fetish from toilet-papering your entire house. It's hard to spot the dachsies with this problem by just looking. If yours suffers from a compulsion to decorate with streamers of quilted paper squares, you'll quickly find out!
In the laundry, keep your cleaning supplies out of reach or behind firmly closed cabinet drawers. Keep in mind that dirty laundry piled on the floor may look very desirable to your dachshund.
