Why Adolescents Act Like Teenagers
At around eight months to a year, your dachshund will begin to mature physically and sexually. The dachshund is, by nature, a self-assured, independent sort of breed. This means that when she hits puberty, your beloved puppy may begin to question your leadership and her rank in the human and canine pack in your home. She may also have a different opinion of strangers approaching you and your home.
As long as you anticipate these changes and know how to respond the first time they happen, you shouldn't have any problems convincing your dachshund that you are a good and kind leader and that all this other nonsense has got to stop.
