As a current town employee, it would be a wonderful and logical next step to serve in a role that would ask me to manage, motivate, hire, and train others to perform efficiently and professionally.

For the past twelve years, I have held positions within the Youngstown Fire Department. Although my current position is secure and rewarding, it is strictly administrative and does not allow me to physically participate, as I have in the past, in actual firefighting or other hands-on activities that provide the outdoor work environment I most enjoy. The maintenance supervisor position described in your advertisement matches motivations and qualifications presented on my resume and in this letter.

I have worked on a family farm, attended a degree program in agriculture, and by choice I have always worked full-time or part-time with tree and excavation services. I am thoroughly familiar with the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, including safety practices. I also have the background and communication skills to train and supervise work crews using this equipment. I feel confident that I can provide Any Parks Department with reliability, dedication, and quality performance.
