Detailed on the attached resume is my broad-based hospitality industry experience. Each step on my current career path has allowed me to develop qualifications for the hotel manager position announced in the Hospitality Association Newsletter. In summary, these include:
Experience managing a hotel and conference facility with annual sales in excess of $10 million.
Progressively responsible management and human-resource experience with several properties.
Expertise using varied proprietary budgeting, human resources, reservations, and finance packages.
Undergraduate education in hotel and hospitality management, supplemented by ongoing professional development and training.
To date, my positions have ranged from intern and trainee to front-desk manager, director of sales and marketing, to my current role as assistant general manager of a prestigious three-thousand-room hotel and conference center. I now assist with all operation of conventions, special events, training, front office, housekeeping, maintenance, reservations, quality control, and communications. I am also a member of the executive committee that oversees all budgetary and policy decision-making.
As you will see as you review my resume, I have been involved in hospitality management for ten years. While my present position is challenging and rewarding, being a manager for Any Hotels, which operates gems like The Biltmore and The Renaissance, would be ideal. I would welcome the chance to speak by phone or in person regarding this position. I will be attending the Hospitality Association Conference next week. If you will be there, perhaps we could meet then. I will call to discuss your thoughts regarding a meeting. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Chris Smith
