Dear Mr. Cummings:
I enjoyed our brief conversation at the New Jersey Sales and Marketing Expo. As you now know, I am actively seeking new, challenging, and rewarding sales or customer service opportunities. I am now formally requesting the assistance of your agency with my search. Attached is a copy of my resume as well as the candidate contract you provided.
As you can see from the resume, I have over seven years' experience in positions including sales assistant, claims investigator, and bank teller. My applicable experience includes the following:
Acting as liaison between customers, staff, and management.
Investigating and resolving customer requests and problems.
Tracking and expediting sales orders; ascertaining order accuracy.
Processing a wide range of financial transactions; maintaining accuracy and balance.
My current ambitions are to earn more and gain management and supervisory responsibilities. I am willing to travel, and I would be interested in a salary in the $35,000 to $45,000 range. Of course, salary is important, but it is a negotiable issue. Most important, I want enhanced potential to succeed! Performance-based bonuses or other incentives beyond base salary would be welcome for sales or customer service positions.
I would be interested in further discussing my candidacy and identifying any employment opportunities you feel would be applicable to my skills. Please do keep my candidacy confidential. I also respectfully request that you or any prospective employers only contact the references listed on the contract. Thank you for your professionalism, consideration, and assistance. I will call soon to discuss your reactions to this fax (originals to follow by mail) and to begin our association. If needed, you can always reach me via the cell phone number listed above.
Sincerely,
Chris Smith
