Not-So-Messy Sloppy Joes

To make these easier — and not so messy — to eat, scoop out a small amount of bread from the bun to make a well. Put the Sloppy Joes in the well and top with the other half of the bun. It works!

DIFFICULTY: HARD

Makes 8 servings

1 pound ground beef

1 onion, chopped

2 cups frozen hash brown potatoes

1 15½-ounce can Sloppy Joe sauce

8 hamburger buns

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef. Drain the extra fat from the ground beef.

  • Add the onions and potatoes.

  • Pour the Sloppy Joe sauce over the top, stirring to blend the ingredients. Cover the skillet.

  • Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.

Play It Safe
