Cinnamon-Raisin French Toast

Serve with your favorite syrup or sprinkled with confectioners' sugar. If you can't find cinnamon raisin bread, use regular raisin bread. Make your own cinnamon flavor by adding 1 tablespoon of sugar and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon to your egg mixture.

DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM

INGREDIENTS | MAKES 8 slices of French toast or 4 servings

  • 2 eggs
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 slices cinnamon raisin bread
  • Syrup, optional
  • Confectioners' (powdered) sugar, optional
  1. In pie plate or large bowl, beat the eggs and milk with a whisk.

  2. In large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of the butter over medium heat.

  3. Dip the slices of bread in the egg mixture, coating both sides.

  4. Put 2–4 slices of bread into the heated skillet at a time, and cook 1–2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Continue with additional butter and slices of bread.

Bunches of Bagels

Figure out the topping on these bagels by reading the letters in a circle. The trick is to know which letter comes first, and whether to read to the right or to the left. Then decide which bagel and topping combo you would want to eat for breakfast!
