Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal
You can also add raisins to this oatmeal if you would like.
INGREDIENTS | MAKES 4 servings
- 1 cup rolled oats (not instant)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 apple, peeled and finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
In a large saucepan, combine the oats, milk, water, brown sugar, and chopped apple.
Heat the mixture over medium to high heat until it begins to boil, stirring occasionally.
Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 2–3 minutes, continuing to stir.
When the oatmeal thickens and gets a mushy texture to it, remove it from the heat. Pour the oatmeal into bowls and sprinkle with cinnamon before serving.
