Tuna Fish and Apple Crunch Sandwich

A sweet crunch will make your tuna salad sandwich so much tastier. If you don't have an apple for this recipe, try a chopped pear.

DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM

Makes 2 tuna sandwiches

1 16-ounce can chunk tuna in water, drained

1 small apple

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

1 pita pocket, cut in half

  • Use the can opener to open the tuna, then carefully drain the water out.

  • Peel, core, and chop apple.

  • Combine the tuna, apple, and mayonnaise in a medium bowl. Mix well.

  • Cut pita pocket in half, open up both sides, and stuff half the mixture in each pocket.

An Apple a Day

You've probably heard the saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Apples are definitely good for you, but you should eat a variety of fruits and vegetables to stay healthy. What's more, the skins of apples and other foods are very good for you, so remember to leave them on whenever you can.
