Makes 4 servings
1 large red apple
2 stalks celery
2 tablespoons nuts
2 tablespoons raisins
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
Chop the apple, celery, and nuts into ½″ chunks. (If you don't have an apple corer, ask an adult to help you get the stem and seeds out of the apple.)
Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well.
Keep the salad refrigerated until you are ready to serve it.
When you cut up fresh fruits like apples and bananas, add a little orange juice or lemon juice to the fruit. The acid in the juice helps keep the fruit from turning brown after it is exposed to the air.
