Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM
Makes 2½ dozen cookies
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
½ teaspoon vanilla
1¾ cups flour
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to combine sugar, brown sugar, margarine, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well until the batter is smooth.
Add the remaining ingredients, except for the chocolate chips.
When the batter is smooth and creamy, stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.
Bake for 8–10 minutes, until golden.
Remove cookie sheet from the oven and let it cool 1 minute before removing the cookies.
