Spaghetti with Sand

A funny-sounding dish. Kids love this dish for that reason, and it tastes great!

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ pound thin spaghetti
  • ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  1. Bring a pot of water to boil, and cook the pasta according to package directions.

  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil and butter together in a skillet until the butter stops bubbling.

  3. Add the bread crumbs and the garlic. Toast the bread crumbs over medium heat for about 4 minutes, stirring frequently. (Be careful not to burn the bread crumbs.)

  4. Drain the pasta, toss with the bread crumb mixture, and then toss with the cheese and parsley. Season with salt and pepper, and serve.
