Slammin' Macaroni and Cheese
This is the real deal.
- ½ pound elbow macaroni
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup scallion cream cheese
- ½ pound sliced American cheese
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ¾ cup plain bread crumbs
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a 9” × 13” ovenproof casserole dish.
Cook the pasta according to package directions, drain, and rinse under cold water.
Combine the cream, cream cheese, American cheese, and garlic in a saucepot over medium heat. Heat until just melted together.
Toss the pasta with the cheese sauce, and season with salt and pepper.
Transfer the pasta to the prepared casserole dish, spreading it out in an even layer. Sprinkle the top with the bread crumbs and then the melted butter.
Bake for 35 minutes or until it is browned and bubbly.
