Apple Pie

Top warm slices of this pie with vanilla soy ice cream for an all-American treat.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 pie crusts (either store-bought or homemade)
  • 6 Granny Smith apples
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon allspice
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons tapioca flour
  1. Preheat oven to 375ºF.

  2. Prebake 1 crust for 5 minutes.

  3. Peel and thinly slice apples.

  4. Toss apple slices with cinnamon, allspice, brown sugar, and tapioca flour.

  5. Fill pie crust with apple slices.

  6. Top pie with second crust.

  7. Pierce top of pie crust with a knife to create steam vents.

  8. Bake 40 minutes.
