Kansas City BBQ Beef Tips for Dogs Recipe

Kansas City takes its barbecuing so seriously that there is a Kansas City Barbeque Society, which sponsors more than fifty barbecue contests a year.

YIELDS ► 1 cup

  • 1 tablespoon virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, whole
  • ¼ pound beef stew meat, chopped into small cubes
  • 2 tablespoons Gates and Sons Bar-B-Q sauce, or any prepared barbecue sauce
  1. Preheat the oven to 325ºF.

  2. In a small skillet, heat the olive oil and sauté the garlic over low heat. Add the beef cubes to the skillet and cook till brown and crunchy.

  3. Discard the garlic cloves and pat the beef cubes dry with a paper towel. Toss the cubes with the barbecue sauce.

  4. Sprinkle the cubes onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes until the cubes are dry and firm to the touch.

  5. Store in a resealable plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to one week.
