Dried Cinnamon Apples for Dogs Recipe
Orange juice adds a nice sweetness and flavor to the apples, and the acidity will keep the apples from oxidizing and turning brown.

RECOMMENDED FOR ► Quick and easy, Wheat- and gluten-free, Diet-friendly
- 1 Granny Smith or Empire apple
- ½ tablespoon orange juice
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples. Toss the slices with the orange juice.
Spread the apple slices in a single layer on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle the slices with cinnamon.
Bake for 20 minutes until the apples are dry and leathery. Turn the oven off and leave the apples in for another 10 minutes.
Allow them to cool completely before placing them in a resealable plastic bag. Store the sliced apples in the refrigerator for up to one week.
When selecting apples, choose fruit whose skin is shiny and not dull. Store fruit in the refrigerator to keep it firm and crisp. Washington State produces more than half the apples eaten by Americans.
