Pasta and Broccoli for Dogs Recipe

Rigatoni is a tube-shaped pasta that makes perfect-size pasta rings when cut with scissors. You can certainly use fresh broccoli, but the advantage of frozen chopped broccoli is that it will break down, turning into a sauce that really coats the pasta.

YIELDS ► 8 servings
SERVING SIZE ► ¼ cup
RECOMMENDED FOR ► Quick and easy

  • 1 cup rigatoni or any tube-shaped pasta
  • 1 tablespoon virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 cup frozen broccoli, thawed and finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Romano cheese, grated
  1. Bring a heavy pot of water to a rolling boil. Cook the pasta for 7 minutes or till al dente and drain into a colander.

  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté till light brown. Add the broccoli and stir constantly with a wooden spoon until heated through.

  3. Cut the pasta with scissors or a knife, and add to broccoli mixture. Mix in the grated cheese and serve over kibble.
