Egg Noodles Carbonara for Dogs Recipe
In this recipe, the heat of the noodles actually cooks the raw egg. Thus, all your ingredients must be assembled and ready to go as soon as the noodles are cooked.
YIELDS ► 8 cups
SERVING SIZE ► ¼ cup
RECOMMENDED FOR ► Quick and easy
- 1 organic egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons Romano cheese, grated
- 1 piece Applegate Farms Sunday bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 6 ounces egg noodles
- 2 teaspoons virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, sliced organic chicken broth (optional)
Place an empty glass measuring cup in the microwave and heat it for 20 seconds on high power. Carefully remove the measuring cup and add the egg, grated cheese, and crumbled bacon. Use a fork or whisk to completely emulsify the egg. Set the mixture aside.
Bring a heavy pot of water to a rolling boil. Cook the egg noodles for 5 minutes or till al dente. Save some pasta water in a measuring cup.
While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté till light brown. When the noodles are ready, drain them in a colander and quickly return them to the hot pasta pot. Toss the cooked noodles with the olive oil and garlic mixture.
Add about 1 tablespoon pasta water to the egg mixture and pour it all at once onto the noodles. Mix thoroughly and carefully with a wooden spoon. Use two knives to cut the pasta in a crisscross fashion. Serve over kibble with chicken broth if desired.
