Eggdrop Oatmeal Soup for Dogs Recipe
If your dog's food bowl is ceramic or metal, place it in the freezer while preparing the soup. The soup will cool on contact, so your dog won't have to wait for her food to cool.
YIELDS ► 2 servings
SERVING SIZE ► ½ cup
RECOMMENDED FOR ► Wheat- and gluten-free, Quick and easy
- ⅓ cup, plus 1 tablespoon organic chicken broth
- 1 organic egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon old-fashioned rolled oats, uncooked
- 1 tablespoon natural Cheddar cheese, grated
In a small saucepan, heat ⅓ cup chicken broth to a low boil.
Meanwhile, use a fork to beat the egg in a glass measuring cup with the rolled oats and grated cheese.
Pour the egg mixture all at once into the boiling chicken broth, swirling the egg with a fork as it hits the broth. Stir until the egg is cooked and “stringy” looking.
Pour the soup into your dog's bowl. To help cool the soup, add the remaining tablespoon of chicken broth to the bowl.
