Baked Rice and Eggs for Dogs Recipe

For variation, you can use brown rice, wild rice, basmati rice, or even sushi rice for this easy and tasty dish.

  • 1 organic egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons cooked rice
  • 1 tablespoon frozen peas, rinsed under hot water
  • 1 tablespoon natural Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons organic chicken broth, cold
  1. Use a fork to beat the egg in a glass measuring cup with the cooked rice, peas, and grated cheese. Pour the mixture into a buttered ramekin, and cover it loosely with a piece of waxed paper.

  2. Cook it in the microwave for 1 minute at medium heat. Check the doneness of the egg, and turn the ramekin, cook it another 30–45 seconds at medium heat.

  3. Add the cooked egg mixture to your dog's bowl. Break the egg apart with a fork, and add the chicken broth to help cool the mixture.

Brown Rice

Sometimes referred to as “hulled rice,” brown rice has a mild nutty flavor and is chewier than white rice. Brown rice retains more vitamins and dietary minerals because only the husk is removed. To produce white rice, however, both the husk and the bran layer underneath are removed. Brown rice offers the added benefit of helping to lower LDL cholesterol.
