Chicken and Broccoli

Leftover roast chicken is a versatile ingredient for all sorts of simple dinners for your baby. Here, it's paired with tasty and nutritious broccoli, which also mashes to a smooth consistency when well-cooked.

4 Servings

1 broccoli crown

½ cup cooked chicken

1 cup water

  • Wash the broccoli. Peel the stem with vegetable peeler, or discard the stem. Cut into small pieces and place in a steamer basket in a small saucepan.

  • Add enough water to reach the bottom of the steamer basket. Bring to a boil; then cook for 15 minutes or until the broccoli is very tender.

  • Remove all fat, skin, and bones from chicken. Dice.

  • Remove broccoli from steamer and place on plate along with chicken. Fork-mash until it reaches a consistency suitable for your baby.

  • Add breastmilk or formula, 1 tablespoon at a time, to make the mixture smoother.
