Carrot-Apple Purée

Walk through your supermarket baby food aisle, and you'll find that just about any meat, vegetable, starch, or fruit is made into a purée with apples — there's a good reason for that! Apples have a sweet, mild flavor that goes well with just about anything.

4 Servings

1 apple

1 carrot

5 tablespoons apple juice

  • Wash, peel, and core the apple. Cut into small chunks.

  • Wash and peel the carrot. Cut into small pieces and steam for about 15 minutes, or until tender.

  • Combine apple and carrot in a food processor or blender. Purée for about 30 seconds.

  • Add apple juice, 1 tablespoon at a time. Continue puréeing until the mixture is smooth.
