Wash the green beans and snap off the ends. Cut into 1-inch-long segments.
Brown the turkey in a skillet over medium heat for 10–15 minutes, or until it's completely cooked.
Drain any fat and return the turkey to the skillet.
Add the water and butter. Bring to a boil; then add in the rice, beans, and carrots. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes, or until rice is cooked and fluffy.
Check periodically to ensure that there's enough liquid. If the rice starts sticking before it's done, add ¼cup water. Let cool before serving, and fork-mash if desired.
