Creamy Fruit Gelatin

Most children like the wobble factor in gelatin desserts, but some may prefer a creamier, milkier taste that you can achieve using this recipe. Be sure to refrigerate the leftovers promptly with this recipe.

4 Servings

1 small package (3 ounces) lemon-flavored gelatin mix

1 small package (3 ounces) unflavored gelatin

1 orange

2 cups water

1 small package (8 ounces) cream cheese

¼ cup heavy whipping cream

  • Peel the orange. Divide into sections, remove as much of the white skin as possible, and dice into small pieces.

  • Bring 1 cup of water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Stir in the gelatin and cook until completely dissolved. Remove from the heat.

  • Stir the cream cheese to soften it, and mix it into the hot gelatin. Stir until the cream cheese is completely dissolved.

  • Whip the whipping cream using an electric mixer. Alternatively, use 1 cup of whipped regular or nondairy topping. Stir into the gelatin mixture, mixing well. Add in the orange pieces and stir to mix.

  • Pour into a lightly greased gelatin mold or dish. Refrigerate until set, about 5–6 hours.
